Any Mazda CX-3 Owners?!

I'm looking currently at Mazda CX-3's and like them alot.

Anybody own one on these forums ? Any troubles,likes/dislikes about them.

I look at them. I guess to change out headlight req removing the front grill/bumper. I like how it rode. Was only FWD not AWD.

The CX3 was on our short before ultimately choosing the Corolla. The Mazda handles very well and the steering feel is excellent. The interior space is just way too small for what we wanted. Very nice car though.

That might sound like a lot of work, but all new vehicles are stupid that way. On an Hundai Tuscon, you have to remove the right-side wheel assembly including the strut and CV shaft to replace the alternator. I'm sure every vehicle, the way they pack them these days, has some similar stupid muti-hour procedure to do things you used to be able to do with a screwdriver and five minutes of your life.

Been looking in that direction too. In our case it's between a Mazda3 ITouring and Hyundai Alantra GT.

WhatI can tell you is that the salespeople wouldn't commit to an answer regarding matched tires on their CX system.

I don't even know what you mean.
Are you asking if Mazda requires the user to swap all 4 tires on an AWD vehicle at the same time to keep the overall size of the tires the same?

Here's what I can find in the 2014 CX-5 owners manual online:

It could cause poor handling and poor braking resulting in loss of vehicle control.
Mazda strongly recommends that you replace all four tires at the same time.

Tires and Tire Chains
The condition of the tires plays a large role in the performance of the vehicle.
Moreover, to prevent adverse effects to the drive assembly, please note the following:

Tires

When replacing tires, always replace all front and rear tires at the same time.

All tires must be of the same size, manufacture, brand and tread pattern.
Pay particular attention when equipping snow or other types of winter tires.

Do not mix tread-worn tires with normal tires.

Inspect tire inflation pressures at the specified periods adjust to the specified pressures, and initialize the tire pressure monitoring system.

NOTE
Check the tire inflation pressure label attached to driver's door frame for the correct tire inflation pressure.

Make sure to equip the vehicle with genuine wheels of the specified size, on all wheels. With AWD, the system is calibrated for all four wheels being of the same dimensions.

That is standard for any AWD setup. Any variation in size creates extra wear on the system and any variation in tread imbalances the system. Heck, the tread part is true for any car as the brake bias is set based on 4 wheels having the same grip. If you have different tires on front vs back, your brake bias could not be set properly and adversely affect braking performance as either the front or rear is not providing as much stopping power as expected.

I had a 2019 CX-3 loaner the last 2 days. As wemay stated, it handles very well and the steering feel is excellent. The interior space though is too small. I had the AWD version. I thought the automatic transmission was very well programmed and in sport mode the shifting is excellent. It's also among the best looking (subjective of course) in its class.

I've sat in them at the auto show. Amazed at how tiny the back seat legroom is. Had to be smaller than a Ford Fiesta.

If you don't need AWD, I'd say the Mazda 3 hatchback is a far better choice.

If you wait the new Mazda3 will come with AWD as an option.

Make sure you try out the rear seats. They may be better, but the 2017 rear seats were not comfortable at all for adults. That,s why we went with the cx-5. If you have kids or car seats it may be fine.

Funny you mention headlights. On my son's 09 Mazda6 they are an uber-pain as well, requires removing parts from the wheel well.
