Gin is one of my favorite libations. I like mine neat, at room temp, to fully appreciate the aromas and flavors. The market is full of "new style" gins from all over the world, especially the U.S., that can appeal even to those who previously didn't care for gin.

I'll save my favorites list for later, but if you're a fan tell me which ones you like and why.

Hendricks is my favorite, but pricey. I rarely drink Gins now, mainly because they hit me really hard, and there will be a headache in the morning almost 100% sure

Death's Door is indeed good.
My standard is Bombay Sapphire in a martini:
Dry with a touch of dry vermouth, straight up, chilled, dirty with blue cheese olives. The glass must be chilled with ice water also.

Definitely Bombay Sapphire. In a martini, dry with a twist. On a hot day. Sapphire and Canada Dry Tonic. After a hard day...straight, no ice

Yes!

I too like mine neat but also take a little Tonic.
Favorite brands are Bols , Burnetts White Satin of good old Gordons.

Oh. NO ice or Lemon please.

Gin straight, no ice and room temp?

Gawd you guys are much tougher specimens than I!

I do like drinks with gin in them, nothin' too sweet. Not picky on the brand, especially if you're buying.

Always been a vodka person. Gin is ok. I may check a few of those out. Thanks.

me too, but with gin I taste more and tend to drink less overall.
I like the Bombay Sapphire. What's a high end gin to convert the non believers i wonder?

25 years ago I use to imbibe gin - my 2 favourites were Beefeater and Tanqueray ... and on a rare occasion and on a budget, Gordon's.

I think Gin and 7-up with a bit of lemon was standard. Whatever the mix was, having a bit of lemon was critical.

Gotta love that Bombay Sapph! It's fine, even if it's a little warm from being left in the trunk. A few swigs of warm gin in the parking lot at the club is pure class. lol

My favorite is Tanqueray #10...but I rarely have the budget for it.

Bombay Sapphire if I can find it for a decent price. New Amsterdam is an acceptable "bang for the buck" gin for me.

My typical gin drink is 2 parts gin, 1-2 parts sweetened lime juice, top up with tonic water. Wonderful on a hot summer day.

My favorites, at present, are below. I say "at present" because the list could easily change. I do need to try at least one of the Anchor Distilling gins soon. Bombay Sapphire would be one of the newer style gins I was talking about. They have toned down juniper flavor and usually increased citrus presence. These would also include Beefeater 24 and Tanqueray Ten/Rangpur.

Martin Miller's (regular, not Westbourne)
Magellan
Plymouth
Plymouth Navy Strength (57%)
Citadelle
Old Raj (46% - haven't tried the 55%)
Bluecoat

If you're buying, I'm trying. A classic martini loaded with olives is a fine drink. Use any ol' gin you wish, I'll drink it and smack my lips. When WC Field's doctor limited him to one drink a day, he had a 1 quart martini glass made.
