At the water fountains at work, we literally have the water supply line come out of the cinder block wall RIGHT ABOVE the electrical outlet. Yeah they use GFCI breakers, but come on, who thought of that one! A little leak at the supply valve or copper line and it goes right into the electrical outlet box.
Any electrical and plumbers here?

I always blame stuff like that on the architects!
Turd herders and tin knockers don't care about anyone else because heaven forbid they have to go around something. They don't realize air and water can go around bends just as easily as electricity can.
The architects are the ones who draw the blueprints, the tradesmen just do whatever they’re told… Then equipment guys like me come in and wonder who couldn’t read the spec sheet!
Sometimes the tradesmen have no choice but to follow what the architect specs. And sometimes it makes very little sense, but it looks good
Yeah with skill. And this novel device known as a tape measure and a grade level.
How long as it been working with 0 injuries? One thing you’ll learn fast in the trades plumbers and electricians have no love for one another. no matter what wires and conduits always find a way of being in the way of the plumbers work and vice versa. Who puts an outlet there who puts a trap there heard it like a broken record lol.
Surprised it passed the building inspection.
why wouldn't it?
code inspector sees water + GFCI protection gets to go ahead. The inspector may be more concerned the drinking cooler is in compliance with the ADA.
