Did you notice the close up of the media? It’s very thick and mashing it with my fingers and a paper towel just about completely cleaned the oil out of it. That’s good flow.Fantastic filters![]()
I think you are assuming the glue on the ends of the pleats is "sludge" ... it's not.4k..? Wow... Looks terrible
Looks good. What went back in and on? Thank YouThis filter had just shy of 4k miles. 130 hours. Came off my Ram 2500 6.4 Hemi using PUP 0W-40. Just another great filter. View attachment 111794View attachment 111793View attachment 111793
Put PUP 0-40 and a NG 7899. Truck only has 8k miles on it in the 11 months I’ve had it. It was built in September of last year.Looks good. What went back in and on? Thank You
I don’t know. I don’t really like louvers but these were wide open. You could actually see across my shop looking through them. Why does that OG Ultra have louvers in the center tube?![]()

What's strange is it's the first Fram I've seen posted that has louvers. It must have been made by someone else for Fram. Can't escape them!
This is the RAM 1500 filter, if that's the case, that's surprising. Can't remember if I C&P'd the one I ran before I switched to the XG2, I'd have to search. What's strange is it's the first Fram I've seen posted that has louvers. It must have been made by someone else for Fram.

The media seems thicker than that in the XG2’s I have that were made in late 2021.
Here are a few older threads, 1st one shows the old style filter with the holes in the centre tube:That particular size filter is used on a lot of different vehicles by a lot of different manufacturers.
The media in this filter looks a lot more coarse than the other ones I’ve seen. IDK
Also didn’t have a metal crimped seam. Looked like it had been crimped but no piece of metal found.
