I need to stop doing this! 😂

I had no intention of buying the new Model Y initially. My wife made the comment about two weeks ago of how she was having trouble fitting everything for the animal rescue we work with in her Model 3. I made the comment "too bad you don't like the look of the new Model Y." I got the reply "I'm out and near the Tesla Service Center, I'll see if I can look at one." That was it, she fell in love with it.

Now I still don't think it looks as good as the one I already have, but I'm a bit biased, especially with mine being a Performance. I will say the new one rides a lot better. I know they changed up the suspension and it does have taller tires. I personally don't think it handles as well, but that's not something she'd be concerned with. I also really don't like the "Juniper" name. I've went out of my way to not call it that and even Tesla doesn't call it that, much like the Model 3 being the Highland. I will say the seats are much better than our Model 3. I can't decide if I like them more than the seats in my Y, but finally the black seats don't feel like rubber. They are both heated and cooled which is a great touch.

@Torrid you bought well. Is that the Dual Motor Long Range? I understand the finance rates are dirt cheap right now...
Congrats on your wife's new ride. The new cars are much improved. You will love that Juniper, ea ah I mean Model Y.

Nice looking cars. Red, White, and Blue on purpose?

Nice looking older neighborhood (character)?

Also love the power of suggestion: I made the comment "too bad you don't like the look of the new Model Y." I got the reply "I'm out and near the Tesla Service Center, I'll see if I can look at one." That was it, she fell in love with it.

Shamefully, I use the same technique with my baby boomer, old school wife: I'll be lounging on the couch watching TV after a dreadfully hard day at work - "dear, I wonder if there is any ice tea in the refrigerator". Boom, up like a rabbit and she fetches a cold ice tea for her "exhausted" hubby. I'm so bad 😇 .

The exterior styling on the new Y is a definite improvement, both front and rear. I love the color.

Will your wife be adding the turn signal kit?

Did you check the panel gaps?
Where are you going to mount your rear license plate?
It seems pretty solid. There's a little adjustment to be done to the front trunk. I'll just adjust the bumpers. Other than that I didn't see anything. I did go over the paint pretty close. There's a scuff on the rear quarter that's light, but I'll end up doing a paint correction and ceramic coating on it next weekend.

Yep, it's the Dual Motor Long Range. The finance rates is what started actually considering getting one.

Red, white, and blue was somewhat on purpose. My wife wanted blue on the Model 3 when we got it, but she wanted the absolute base at the time just to get the feel of having an EV. She wouldn't let me talk her into the $1000 option at the time. Realistically I'll probably sell the Model 3. We don't really need 3 cars. My driveway makes it a bit of a pain to have 3 cars. The Model 3 is parked in front of the house currently.
