MMO must really be a joke, I can see the SERIAL NUMBERS in my cylinder heads at 380,000 miles, sorry I do not have before pics, but the GOOD OLD BOYS on this website know what I am talking about.

Like spyder noted, I also would continue to use a top end lube in the gas even if there was no perceptible feel difference.
Because I want the pump , injectors, and top end lubed a bit , esp with today's alcohol infused fuels..

Geez, thats a clean top end. I did not understand the reference.. completely over my head and i didnt get it

MMO can be used at between 10%-20% and not significantly counteract anything in a good known oil, correct? (Sometimes, i think people lose sight of the original, observed benefits of MMO, before they get to the "What is it doing in the crankcase.")
You have to ask how it would behave in the engine at the same time as the Mos2 of the other thread.
Mos2 makes it smooth like Day One...

You have to ask how it would behave in the engine at the same time as the Mos2 of the other thread.
In the crankcase its a solvent that can break up sludge and carbon deposits. Its about a 5 grade oil, so it'll thin out anything you add it to. How much depends on how big your sump is and how much you add. Marvel states you can use up to 25%.
Dosing the crankcase with it is not like dosing the gas. Marvel states its safe to use with fuel and provides dosing information. In the crankcase, they provide only a recommended range and don't make the same statement regarding it being safe to use.
Any solvent added to the crankcase has the potential to cause damage. That doesn't mean it will cause damage, but its something to be aware of before it goes in. I'm running a 10% dose, over a yet to be decided interval, in a sludged engine. I'm not worried about it causing any damage. YMMV,

MMO does pretty good in the oil, there are some UOA reports with MMO added and the wear #'s are quite good. TBN takes a slight hit so it is not for the extended drain guys. But then again if you are using it to clean you shouldn't be doing extended drains.
MMO containes anti-wear additives as well as some other goodies. There is a list of what is in MMO and what it does somewhere in this section, it is a little more than just a solvent.

I add a pint to my oil as a cleaning agent at about the last 600 or 700 miles before an oil change. The oil always drains out pretty dark so the MMO must be doing some beneficial amount of cleaning. My truck always runs really smooth when I add the MMO for those last couple of weeks before I change the oil. It runs very smooth and quiet after the new oil change too.

I did some experimentation and can definitely tell a difference with MMO in the gas. But as Mechtech put it very well, I will still use MMO for its UCL properties even if there is no noticeable benefit that I can feel.

Sooo,I'm considering changing the 20 w 50 Supertech for more of the same, and when it gets down in the teens, add a pint of MMO The car is basically a weekender because I work out of a company van.
