Another larger oil filter?

Is there a larger oil filter I can use on a 2000 Olds Bravada? And if so do you know what vehicle it originally fits? I only use NAPA gold filters and would like to just walk in and tell them I need a filter for (Make and model) of car and call it a day without having to cross reference anything. I have seen bigger bottles of aspirin then the oil filters they put on these trucks!

It would be helpful if we knew which engine powers your bravada.

I assume it is the 4.3 Vortec engine. I think that is the only option for a 2000 Bravada. The standard filter would be a Delco PF-52. That is not that small of a filter for 4.3 V6. It is a small diameter and somewhat long filter. Due to the small diameter it may be hard to find a larger filter.

It is a 4.3 liter...that is the only engine available in a second gen s10 series. It is also a very small filter considering my suburbans 350 filter is twice as big. A 4.3 liter is essentially a 350 minus two cylinders. Minus two cylinders does not justify making a filter that is twice as small in my opinion. Looking for a longer filter as there is lots of room.

I have the same engine in my Xtreme and I buy the filter for the 4x4 blazer.

Can you replace the remote filter mount with one that has a more common thread size like 3/4-16? I think yours is 1.5mm x 18. That and the specification for a filter without an internal bypass doesn't give a lot of choices.
FWIW, I had a 2000 Blazer 4 x 4 with the 4.3 Vortec, and just used standard size WIX (or the NAPA Gold clone WIX) and had plenty of oil pressure.

The Fram number for an oversize filter is PH3980.
Some filters use this numbering system. Use what ever brand you
like, just convert the 3980.
