I’ve used High Mileage oil in the past. Once had an old 89 Chevy Cavelier that had 213k on it when I gave it away to someone in need. I only used Valvoline Maxlife in it from 50k up to the 213K I had on it. I’m sure I would have gotten the same results from any oil. Right now I have two cars, one with 160k, the other with 110k. Every once in a while I noticed the used oil analysis coming back from people using Maxlife and must say that I’m impressed with the add pack. The oil manufacturers web sites promoting their High Mileage oil discuss how clearances become looser over time due to wear of the internal parts and how more protection is needed to prevent burn-off. But, will NOT using a High Mileage oil cause the inevitable wear of an engine to increase at a faster rate? I want to know if there is any truth needing these products.
Also, for the simple fact that my higher mileage vehicle leaks a little oil, I am considering a High Mileage oil for that reason alone and I’m so darn confused between using Maxlife or Pennzoil High Mileage. I use Pennzoil conventional right now, and that’s the brand that I love and prefer. I’d sure as heck like to know if Pennzoil High Mileage is actually a blend like Maxlife claims to be.

Do a used oil analysis on both...pick one and enjoy.

Pennzoil High Mileage didn't do much to stop my old Dakota from leaking. Maxlife, on the first try, practically eliminated leaks.

UOA dont tell you ANYTHING worthwhile about wear, NOTHING. I am having luck with the new GF-5 rated Pennzoil High Mileage in the bronze bottle. A sleeper oil.

That's interesting about Pennzoil High Mileage API-SN being rated as a GF-5. I just loaded up a couple of weeks ago on the Pennzoil High Mileage SN oil at Walmart and not one of the bottles is rated for GF-5. They are also missing the "Energy Conserving" in the API donut. This went for all the Pennzoil SN rated oils in 5w20 up to 20W-50. However, for the few bottles of API-SM Pennzoil High Mileage oils on the shelf....they had the GF-4 rating.
Looks like the High Mileage oils are no longer considered a GF-5, nor are they "Resource Conserving".

Statements like that with nothing to back your claims up are next to worthless.
