A few weeks ago BITOG member 2015_PSD sent me some oil and oil filters. He said if I needed to, use it or pay it forward. So, that's what I did, paid it forward.
I live in an apt. complex that houses elderly and disabled people. The residents here live on very low income and most are on food stamps as well.
Another BITOG member saw the story I posted in this forum thanking 2015_PSD. He is BITOG member dlundblad. He PM'ed me asking if anyone in my complex needed an OCI. I told him that I would ask around and let him know. He insisted on sending the oil and I could use it or pay it forward. Well, before he sent it I found a VIETNAM VET that had just moved in. He owns an 85 Ford F150 and was in dire need of an OCI. I told dlundblad I had found someone. Not only did he send the oil, he went out and bought an FL-1A oil filter for the OCI!
In all, he sent a 5qt. container of Castrol 5W20 SynBlend, a 5qt. container with 3 qts. of Castrol 5W20 SynBlend, a MC FL-1A oil filter, and a FRAM XG2 ULTRA oil filter.
Thanks dlundblad, for your kindness and looking out for people that are less fortunate than most!

Great work! Please don't think this is a jab at what you're doing, but his 85 truck isn't spec'd for a 20 weight oil. the best intentions could be a problem if it starts leaking or knocking or something...it's a pretty old vehicle at that. Heavier or high mileage oil might be a better bet.

tcp, I told the man (His name is Gene) about the oil and what weight it is. He said it did not matter and that he would still use it. If he wants the 3 extra qts. as well for topping off, he is welcome to that as well.

We don't always see eye to eye here but we are a large, dysfunctional family and we care about each other.
A bitoger doesn't let another bitoger ride dirty.

And that's what makes this place different.

I've used a 20 grade in my fox body before. Car actually had a bit more light throttle pep.
Today's 20 grades are light years ahead of a 30 grade from the 80s and iirc they were hardly shear stable and sheared into a 20 grade in short order anyways.
Far better additive packages and better film strength in today's oils mean in reality it's a step up.
But someone's gotta rain on the parade I guess.
