Annual Pennzoil rebate; expires 8-31-25

Is anyone else having trouble submitting this rebate? I get to the final page with the submit button and nothing happens. Both on mobile and on a desktop PC. I finally got to the point where it accepted my click, but told me “only one rebate per person/household”. So one of my earlier clicks must have worked? I’ll have to call.

I was able to submit just now fine.
 
I'm concerned that PUP 5W-20 just shows up on my Walmart in-store receipt as 'PZLPL 5W205Q'. Terms state receipt must clearly show variant of oil. Could easily see this being rejected since they think it's just Platinum and being told to resubmit for $20 instead of $30. Anyone ever run into this before? If I enter the TC number from my Walmart receipt on their app, it pulls up that I purchased PUP.

FYI, I called in to correct and it was manually corrected to "ULTRA," and I saw it on screen. However, when I saw the most recent status, again it was changed to PLATINUM / $20 rebate instead of $30......not sure I want to further waste my time calling in..
 
For those who have successfully submitted rebates, how do you track them? Do you get a confirmation number? Pennzoil’s website has a tracking link but it’s dead. I tried to submit a rebate the other day but the page locked up. When I tried again, it said “only one rebate per household”, etc. so it must have gone through, but I have no record of it and no confirmation email.

Check the spam folder.
Mine went to spam.
 
Ended up calling today, and one of my many clicks must have gone through haha. I got a confirmation number. Now to see if they’ll actually approve it. Euro L doesn’t have the ‘Platinum’ label on the bottle anymore for some reason, although it almost always does on the product description. The receipt doesn’t indicate that though, and the look of the packaging matches the Platinum color scheme. We’ll see.

FWIW, I got my confirmation email almost immediately after the submission. And the "automated" system seemed to work better with a PDF file rather than a picture based on my past experience.

Weird that I didn’t… I used a cropped photo from my phone. But it uploaded fine, the page just became unresponsive when I went to submit.

How can you tell what the product is tagged in their system as? Some have said they bought PUP, but the code in their system said PP. I don’t know where this info is. I have a long confirmation number but that’s it.

I just suspected as I ran into issues in the past uploading a picture but not since I started to up load a PDF file instead - the scanner must have some limitation in reading JPG vs. PDF

Once the rebate submission is "in progress" or "processed," you should be able to click the "DETAIL" link on the status page, then at the bottom it specifically indicates the type of rebates (PP vs PUP) and the associated amount ($20 vs. $30). This screen has been the same for last few years.

As for PUP vs. PP, my Walmart receipt says PZLPL 5W205Q.....and suspected Shell's system interpreted as PP (which it did). You probably need to wait a few more days / weeks to see the "Detail" link....

IMO it isn't bad and only a few dollars more than getting similar things at Walmart. However, if you add an air filter to the package it's a great deal at $45!
 
I returned a couple of jugs of PP to Walmart because I’ve decided to use something else in my daughter’s vehicle. Didn’t think about it until just now when I saw this thread, but I bought those during last year’s deal and received/redeemed the $20 gift card. Well, I received the full refund for both bottles (gift card since I didn’t have receipt)
 
There is one Walmart in the area that stocks PUP. They stock other things my nearest store does not. I didn’t want to make a special trip just for that.

Hi long time listener, first time caller.:)
Just adding a data point for the rebate. This is my first time doing a Pennzoil rebate and it's been several years since submitting mail-in rebates in general. Gone are the days in clipping the UPC code from the container/cardboard box.

I submitted my PUP rebate on 3/14/25, purchased 2 jugs of PUP 5w30 PZLPL 071611365590 from local Walmart store with a paper receipt. Took a picture of the paper receipt and downloaded it to the computer and generated a letter size PDF file to upload to the rebate center. Got a confirmation online after submission. No email confirmation in my inbox nor spam folder.

Use the gift certificate to get more oil for this years’ rebate?
