And soon VW will join the Tesla fold?

Tesla chargers alone still doesn't solve the short comings of the existing network. I can't imagine Tesla owners being happy campers about this.

The charging network needs to be double in size and locations in the near future. JMHO.

Me either. My bet lots of arguments and fights with Tesla owners fighting with owners of competitors vehicles at Superchargers. We have road rage, I can see "Charging Rage" soon to follow. With NY and Chicago neck and neck in a race for first place.

I cant wait for the video's on you tube, it will be like bum fights all over again. So far most of these things are in the hands of the arts and croissant gang just wait till they are in the hands of the unwashed masses as used crap boxes, that is when the fun will really begin.
LOL I enjoy watching scrappers fight. Entertainment at its finest.

In reading the engineer reports, people in the know say that the Plug-in electric is a dead-end solution.
Hybrids are still the better solution for the time being, but all the R & D is going into fuel cells. Toyota has had one in California for a few years, but the infrastructure isn' there for he whole country yet. All the commercial engines manufacturers are working on fuel cells.
The electric plug-in have a use in urban environments, but once the fuel cell spreads its wings, they'll become boat anchors. Yet the Governments keep pushing them, The canadian CEO of GM just said that the Government ought to compel people to buy them or raise the subsidy so that they'll be cheaper than ICEs. We also get pushed into allowing the electric companies to control your A/C as there isn't enough electricity in the network for peak times. *** do these people think?

VW in talks with Tesla to use the Supercharger network.
Selling the most, highest profit and now owning the gas stations...

Ford, GM, Polestar (Volvo), Chargepoint, Electrify America...
Who's your Daddy?
I stopped at Eddies World on I15 to Las Vegas few weeks back. Eddie has like 10-12 Tesla chargers and 40 cars lined up with very unhappy people.
At the same time, I was out in 5mins with Atlas driving 85-90mph uphill. Only problem were various Tesla’s going 55mph preserving power, probably thinking of that line at Eddie’s world.

It would be shortsighted to think that Elon hasn't been thinking about the needed ratio of chargers to EV's and doesn't already have a plan in place to address the very real concerns.

I'd be willing to bet that the manufacturing constraints on building new charging stations are lower than building another half million EV's at each plant per year. Remember, Elon is playing chess while everyone else has a checkers board in front of them.

I think SAE has designated the Tesla plug the as North American standard for EV plugs. (dah... never mind, there is a whole thread on it already)
Right now with EV only 1% of market penetration some should not be under the illusion that one company is going to be allowed to control of all the automobile fueling in this country.

Road rage in NY? na ... ;)
There wont be road rage at the charge points, there will be beatings.

The Supercharger Network will continue to be expanded, now at a faster rate. GM, Ford and the others will pay for it.
A huge revenue stream for Tesla.
