And soon VW will join the Tesla fold?

I used to make that drive all the time living in Las Vegas. I took my family every year to stay at the Cadillac Hotel on the Venice Beach boardwalk. That place would definitely cost me some money making a stop. I know my youngest and plush toys. 😂
I can’t tell you how many times I did that drive, and never stopped there. Youngest one need to go to restroom and that was first opportunity. Next time if close by Eddie, it will be bushes by the road.

It sounds like it opened 2 years after I last made that drive after looking it up. I would have definitely remembered a place like that.

Well, let me explain what happened.
I turn to Eddie’s world and thinking: “what God forsaken place is this?” “Is fuel good?” So, it was like 98f, wife takes 4&7yrs old inside to restroom. And boy was that mistake.
Apparently Eddie (whoever he is) figured he is only game there, so he racked up place with stuffiest, toys etc.
After $44 in stuffies, I was trying to run away as fast as possible.
NEVER stop at Eddie’s world with small kids. Or Tesla. It was Friday, traffic from LA to LV was super busy, so there were bunch of vehicles. But, would not like to be Tesla driver on that road.

The lure of Eddies world had be hard for the young to fight off. Super funny!

44 isnt a beating but the stop's now a crisp Benjamin with fuel so yeah .....

Destination based chargers are always a crap shoot and often relied upon by those failing to plan.

Well, $44 in stuffies plus some 10 gallons of premium at $5,50+.

Perhaps you should take an example from my dad when I was a kid and we were somewhere that had toys or items on the shelf that I wanted and asked for. My dad would say "Do you have any money ?". The answer was usually no. So I didn't get stuff just because I asked for it. And if we were ever in a store and I picked something up off a shelf my dad would say something like "that belongs to Mr. Sears or Mr. Roebuck. Not you. Put it down".

No need to feel extorted into spending unnecessary money in those kinds of places. Sometimes all I needed was "the look" from my dad to end the discussion.

I think we may see some enterprising manufacturers of EV changing stations get more involved in building them to take up any slack that Tesla isn't keeping up with. I imagine that there will be some kind of fees that Tesla requires but a profit split for charging use should be enough of an incentive. We just may not quite be there yet but with the rate of growth on EV's it shouldn't be long before we see charging stations with someone other than Tesla's logos on them,

Honestly there are a good amount of non Tesla branded ones but a lot of reported poorly maintained ones. I don’t have that last problem, but the charge speed of non Tesla ones are pretty limited in my area, but some are being upgraded and more are being built. I only know of a couple in driving distance to me that are 350kW ones. Most are 50kW CCS.

With only 1% of EV cars on American roads it will take a lot of real estate, money and building out a network for a growth of 10 to 20% percent of EV cars on the road. Right now we are in the Honeymoon phase. There are no state road taxes at the charge points yet, there already is limited supply of electricity in some states and electric costs are rising... it's just an all around fun time for enthusiasts but we dont know what the future will be like. I suspect a better method to power an electric motor.
It will be a fun ride to see how it all unfolds.

One example I saw just the other day, the North Carolina beaches have small public access parking areas, the area where we go to has one EV Charge Point (and if I am correct I think it is a ChargePoint) for all I know they can be scattered at all these small lots.

Anyway, arrive at the beach, a Model 3 is plugged in, have no idea how long it was already there. Leaving the beach 5 hours later, the same Model 3 is plugged in and this is the only one in that particular area. Since I dont have an EV I am sure there are others, but I would think the park your car all day at a ChargePoint attitude will need some refinement when only 1% of cars on the road are EV and I am sure in this area it is more line 1/10 of 1 percent.

One other thing, do not think to yourself for one second that as EV become popular and we get to some realistic numbers on American roads that Tesla is going to control the charging market. It's laughable to think otherwise, that our Congress will allow one company to control the fueling of vehicles on American roads. That would be the same as shutting down all gas stations except allow Mobil/Exxon an exclusive. Not going to happen ... like I say, many factors right now = Honeymoon phase.

Maybe with the waits on some of these charging places they should offer services like dental or hair salons? Get your root canal done while waiting for a charger to become available.

This Eddie’s world sounds like a real tourist trap. It’s good business for him. Better than the stuff I would see when I was a kid like snakes and lizards in cages or chainsaw carving.

I inherited two boys as young teenagers.
Never had this problem.
