Im not sure i can completely by into this... I mean, I wasn't there so i can't vouch for whatever else happened however, a 50+hp difference in a filter...
What is everyone else's take on this?

I almost wish there was a 3rd take no filter... I don't see how an amsoil filter would be "this" restrictive... from my understanding its a very high CFM flowing filter... this would lead other wise...

My take on this is don't buy anything named "Weapon R". I have no experience with the oil filters but can assure you these product lines when it comes to other parts are usually inferior, People's Republic of China (PRC) items. Avoid.

As for the results, it's probably all due to the filter's micron rating which does not necessarily indicate filtering ability. The filter could plug up and enter bypass, with zero filtering in that case from that point on, or it could be so porous that it offers no restriction. Keep in mind oil pressure is a reflection of restriction, not performance. A restrictive filter is probably that way because it is cleaning the oil.

50 HP seems like a lot, but by way of example Drag Racers normally operate with 1 to 3 quarts less oil than "street" capacity and get those kinds of HP results. But do you want to drive on the freeway with 2 quarts of oil in the sump? You'll get higher HP, for a while. These same racers rebuild their engines more often than you probably want to.

Horses for courses.

Totally fake, there is no way that is real. The Amsoil is the better filter, you don't want any extra dirt getting in a turbocharged engine, lest you want to replace a turbo due to ruining the bearings.

I think it is faked.

The engine seemed to sound very strained with the second run. Almost as if the filter was blocked of internally.

No filter will give you 58 bhp.

Only a remap can do that.

They must have either changed the map using a laptop inbetween the runs or as i mentioned blocked the Amsoil filter perhaps by stuffing if full of cloth or something.

complete baloney IMO.

C'mon, 50+ HP? Who really believes that?

Dynos can be rigged to say whatever you want. This is a great example...

^ times infinity! Many, many ways to fake this. I've done and seen too many of these kinds of tests to believe 50+ hp gains from a filter alone. Run, don't walk, away from this product.

Huh? It's a "test" of AIR, not oil, filters.
