Will I'm trying to buy Amsoil of 5w30 n he tld me $7.75 a quarts then he said I have to paid tax n shipping n I said okay how much then. He said ummm it'll be 9.40 a quarts.

I need 5 quarts it'll be total $47.00 he have them in stock at the house.

It that sound right?

Sorry I never heard paying for shipping in my life I mean if we go to walmart n buy oil they don't charge us for shipping!!

Suggested retail price for Amsoil 5w30 is $8.75 per quart so he is charging your $1.00 less than suggested retail. If you ordered it direct from Amsoil you would have to pay shipping + tax and your local Amsoil dealer has to pay the same. He is just recovering his cost of shipping.

If you want Amsoil and you local dealer has it in stock, go for it.

If you pay shipping it should be shipped to YOU! I NEVER do this to my local customers. Sure you must pay local tax, but he should price his products correctly. If you want it shipped why not support BITOG and buy Amsoil from one of the site sponsors? Contact me via PM if you like. I'll give you the PC deal. ASL 5w30 = $6.75/qt

Almost $50 for just 5 quarts of oil?

No oil in the world is worth that much money.

If you only knew the benefits (such as high/low temps, extended drain intervals, etc) the R&D that went into it, the cost of individual components, you might have a different view.

+1

50.00 is cheap considering the ability to run it all year. Amsoil's motto, make it the best or don't make it at all. You get what you pay for!

Although, when someone buys dealer stock from me I just charge retail price and eat the rest. Besides, most of my sales are PC and CR anyway so no harm done.

This was worth a repost, many consumers just don't understand. Amsoil doesn't use cheaper group III base stocks in their extended drain oils. Good words MolaKule!
