Does anyone have any Amsoil tear down pics? I don't see many internal engine shots of engines run on Amsoil for long drain intervals.

*Not the Amsoil brochures we have already seen of S2k/3k.

Amsoil has lots of stuff on their various web sites. Maybe some long term engine testing and tear down videos. I know Doug often mentions tear down for real evidence of how an engine holds up, and how well an oil protects.
I would like to see all oil companies do this. Cool stuff.

I have some pictures of a 302 run the majority of it's life with AMSOIL oil and filters.

BUT

The oil was changed at 5,000Km intervals. Making the pictures well...... Not worth as much.

Had around 180,000Km on it IIRC? Can't say for sure though. It's been a few years since we did that engine swap.

Very clean engine desposit wise but a lot of internal rust. Did the top end sit open and exposed like it is shown in the photo for a while before the shot was taken?

In a word: Yes.

It sat for a number of weeks in an un-heated shop, in the middle of January, while we got ready to swap the engines. It was covered in plastic, but yes, it got a touch of rust on some parts.
