Not only did they kill the blocker rings, they removed the driver's Libido.

C'mon, why would myself or Al design a fluid to purposely kill the blocker rings?
dunno.gif

So far no report of grenading transmissions with either product. As others have stated so well, once you have satisfied the technical requirements of a MT, the fine tuning can be user subjective. Nonetheless, my feedback is positive, without any "grind".

Hey, look, it was meant as a sarcastic question in mockery of the Tremec techs who make the blanket statement, "any and all synthetics will eventually destroy the early T56's paper composite blocker rings". Of course they do not test the various fluids to back this claim. Sorry, I forgot the

emoticon after the question, my bad.

BTW; I'm an Amsoil preferred customer, so I have nothing to gain by bashing their (or your) superb products (and I would not).

dailydriver- You might try reading through these threads for the possibility of finding someone who is running the Amsoil lube:

Which T56 fluid?

Ending the speculation: Blocker rings, who's had them fail?

In the first link, post #135 by MeentSS02 indicates he's running a SF SynchoGlide. I traded a PM with him, and he was going to try and start running the SF stuff on 3/10...so I just sent him a PM asking if in fact he did start running it on 3/10, it's now been a week, and asked what his initial impressions are.

You can either send him a PM directly over at LS1TEch.com, or I'll post back - after getting his permission - his results (or, maybe he'll update the first thread above so everyone can see what his experience has been).

The synthetic is bad for your 98-00 F-body T-56 rumor is strong and rampant...which is why I started the second thread above. As you point out, the rumor is that the paperbacked blocker rings are someone degraded by synthetic fluid.

The other common argumet is that synthetic fills are simply to slick, and cause grindage during agressive driving.

Hope this helps someone down the road...

Chuck

Thanks, Chuck, but I've already been following all of those (and any other) threads to "get to the bottom of this". You're mentions of this site are what brought me to BITOG in the first place. Thanks again. I thought there may be someone on here (who was NOT on LS1tech also), with this specific trans, who has tried either of these fine products.

dailydriver- Whoops, sorry man!

I hope you find what your looking for!

MeentSS02 did reply back to me today, but it was simply that he hasn't received it yet.

So, we'll have to wait a little longer now to see what his first impressions are (I'll give him 2 weeks before I start bugging him...

Yep...still waiting on my Synchroglide

I had a slight mix-up with MolaKule, but I think we have it resolved. I'll let you know what I come up with as soon as I get it in.

P.S. This is going in my T-56 equipped Camaro SS (2002) for your reference.

Mola,

Somebody reccomended your product for better shifting in my BMW ZF 5 speed manual. I'm currently running Redline D4ATF and it seems a bit thick when cold. I assume if it works in this Tremec it should be fine in my car. Do you have any dealers in the SF area or do I order from you?

Cookie,

Sounds like you need our MTFGlide or SynchroGlide, depending on your average temps.

You can order through our Website; we only conduct business, at the present time, over the Internet.

S. Meents,

Your order is being shipped tomorrow.

We rarely botch an order, but we sure did a number on Mr. Meents' order. We try to make it right.

Hey, we're still batting 99.7% on orders, but sometimes we slip up too!

Quite alright...can't wait to get it

Got the Synchroglide in yesterday, and just put it in this morning. I haven't had any time to drive it more than 3 miles yet, but it is already shifting smoother than the ATF I had in there previously. I'll do my best to get some more miles on it and get you some more impressions.

THANKS!! Looking forward to your review.

Welp...so far, so good. Cold shifting is a LOT smoother now than it was, and the trans definitely shifts smoother in to all gears.

I haven't had a chance to do any WOT flogging yet, but I'll get to that this weekend and I'll let you know how that goes.

This trans has only had regular ATF in it up until this point, so this is the first synthetic I've tried. I was going to use Pennzoil Synchromesh, but couldn't find it, so I decided to try this.

To me, it was worth the wait.

Maybe Johnny of Pennzoil can give us more info.

I do believe you are right. I'm just curious as to if it's the same exact formulation in the GM bottles (which some call a semi-synthetic??).

BTW, I will order some of your stuff for my next change in the late fall.
