Little background, this is my dads daily driver. Mostly 50/50 city/highway driving. Oil was run from June 14, 2010 to April 24, 2011. Added 5 ounces of make-up in Feb. Oil Filter was a over-sized Amsoil Eao34. I wanted to go 1 year but this is the first run with SSO on a car with over 100,000 so Amsoil does recommend to drain at 17,500. But it looks like it held up very well going past that mark. Sample 1 was PP 5w30 ( here) Currently the car has SSO (bought it just before AZO was released) and same oil filter.

Both results are very, very good. Viscosity stability over 23k miles is especially impressive. Good show!

Looks like those multiple gallons of 5w30 PP & SynPower I bought at around $2.50+ per quart (after rebate) are gonna' last me a long, long time if your results for 13K on Sample 1 are typical!

The SSO seems to be a very fine product but I don't think I can go 23K without changing my oil & filter.

Cheers!

p.s. How many total miles on this SC400, BTW?

Thank you all for the positive feedback

. I do check under the hood time to time (oil level, etc) and the airbox tubing is tight and the air filter is suprisingly clean. I do use a clean paper towel to clean and check the dipstick, would that cause it?
