after i called in and they send me new report with correct vehicle make and milage, number changed from 1 to 3. they said not to take it to 9000k and do oil change at about 7000miles. oil was at about 50% i think. what is reason for this. i just changed it 2nd time after 5000k.
notes: oil analisys was from first oil change after running regular 5w30 oil, thats why one of number on report is high according to oil analisys guy couse of left overs from regular oil.

i got amsoil engine flush, picked up mobile1 oil and filter i think(not sure about filter change), put engine flush in, put new oil(mobile) ran it at idle for like 20 min and then drained all of it. put in new amsoil filter and amsoil oil.

im considering switching to other full syntetic oil and need recommendation.

ill try to take pic of new report and post it.
ill probably take sample of oil after this oil change and send it in

How many miles on the car?
What type of use?
What is the past history of oil changes (type and OCI)
Any UOAs on the previous fills?

Thanks, Bill

right now it has 75K on it
daily driver(about 30 miles of highway each day(5 days a week))
used to change it every 3k. put in first amsoil at 61k i think or 60k.
dont know what OCI or UOA is

in past oil changes used mobile1 5w30(instead of 5W-20 as honda recomends) and either mobile or bosch oil filter

I don't know why they told you not to go 9k - oil is in good shape, and with a TBN of 3, could have likely gone 12k. You didn't have to that EXPENSIVE flush with Mobil 1 oil, and you don't have to change the oil at 5k...you're getting bad advice from OAI.....

No TBN of 3.0 with OAI means the oil is pretty well done.

Sorry about the OCI/UOA...

OCI = Oil change interval
UOA = Used oil analysis

Mobil is the name. (notice no E on the end)

If you had been doing oil changes with ANY oil every 3k in your Honda, the flush was a waste.

SSO is a 30k oil so they say. 9k or even 12k is far away from the magic 30k.

Any oil added during the interval?

Take care, bill

I can only assume the high sodium came from dirt intrusion or from previous use of M1 - but this is your second run with SSO, right?

TBN 3.0 is little low, but could hold at this point for awhile.

How many months was this in service? Outside of the Na number, I don't see anything sticking out. I don't know the VOA Oxi/Nit numbers. I would have expected TBN to be a tad higher ..but I would not sweat 3.

No oil is added between changes. stays at same level when i check.
yeah was disappointed with their 15/25 claim
thats why i just wana go cheaper syntetic oil so looking around whats good and less expencive then amsoil. and are their filters as good as they say?(supposedly full synthetic as well)

Pablo, UOA was done after first run with amsoil

that amsoil was in use for exactly 6 month and put on 9k on the car during that time, put oil in july and changed it in february

Well your first run - you have a high level of sodium (and obviously some old oil) from the left over oil from the previous change.

You really can't judge an oil on a single run, because what you have is a mix of two oils, an interchange of AW/ barrier chemistry going on. AT LEAST two changes are needed.

Why are you disappointed? Please explain.

OAI is rating you UOA as normal, you could run it for a least 10k. If I was you, I'll run Amsoil a second time and use an amsoil oil filter and go from there. It's too early to pull the plug with only the results from your first run.

yeah i just changed oil(amsoil 0w30 and ea filter). gona send it for oil analisys after this run, maybe ill drain it and send it and wait for results before deciding what to get next

Yeah ...but it only likes it for 5000 miles ..max ..and that's pushing it. Keeps you awake at night from 3500 on.
