Amsoil severe service Engine opened with 82000 miles, 10k oil changes...CLEAN!!!

I think it was XL but not 100% sure. I thought he said it was but can't find it now.
Well one of the reasons I don't watch such videos is because people can say just about anything.

Why I enjoy the comments, some other oils, flavor of the month, fill in the blank oil - people practically drool over such things.........well mainly because that is the flavor they chose, because.........well they are followers........

I do see some ignorance, more than I see hate.

Found this on another one of his vids.

All oil companies do different marketing especially Mobil 1 such as their new "triple action" formula. So Amsoil marketing is nothing new. It all goes over my head.

My old 2008 Jeep Wrangler 3.8 had the valve covers off for a gasket replacement at about 180,000 miles or so, IIRC. Certainly North of 150k. It had a life with mostly Mobil 1 oil, typically 5w20 with 6,000 mile OCI's. I expected it to look clean, but it surprised me and surprised the tech at the Jeep dealer, who has seen many examples of that engine with the valve covers off. It had very little varnish and absolutely no sludge. The tech said it was the cleanest 3.8 he'd seen, regardless of mileage.

Amsoil is great stuff, for sure. I'm sure it would have performed similarly. But for a lot more money.

I'd bet PUP, Vavloline Advanced, and others would do well, too, with that kind of care.

I've always wondered if the oil usage by my engine helped a little. It had a little fresh top off oil going in there about every 1k miles. Some of those 3.8's loved to use oil.

XL not so much more expensive

Not having to go to Walmart
1. It takes 5 minutes to walk into Walmart, grab the oil of your choice and filter of your choice walk to self checkout and be done with it, additionally no need for separate orders because not everyone wants to run leaky ruffled leaf spring Amsoil filter.

2. Walmart offers free shipping for those who want to order online.

Not here, but less wear, cleaner internals, not supporting ExxonMobil.
When I look at the wear metals on used oil analysis of Amsoil vs regular off the shelf full synthetics I see nothing special on vehicles that get regular maintenance.

Also not only does Valvoline have proof of cleanliness, so does Mobil and so does Pennzoil with plenty of user experiences also posted on this forum and other forums.

So all you got is not supporting ExxonMobil, which Amsoil likely gets its base oil from.

In case you were not aware, Walmart.com offers free shipping with a $35 minimum order.

You’re just grasping at straws. You do not have any current technical proof of those claims.

Amsoil does not disclose the sources of their base oil but given ExxonMobil’s market position for base oils, it is extremely likely that Amsoil does some amount of business with them.

So finally you guys admit Amsoil XL is equivalent to Mobil 1. Thanks!

Amsoil has proof of cleanliness, rings and all.

Metals in a used oil analysis may be wear metals, or not. I know people scoff at at old Blackstone data (me too) but Amsoil has the lowest cumulative wear metals the old published data.

Again - was it me who posted Amsoil was superior in all applications?

Lastly, yes Amsoil gets some base oils from ExxonMobil.

Congratulations you support ExxonMobil
