I used the Amsoil formulation on the last oil change for my Husky AWD mower with the Honda 190cc engine, I have a boatload of German Castrol in my garage also. Should I make the drive to the NAPA every year or just use the GC? Which one is better? Thanks

Dang! that GC would be one of the finest oils your mower would ever hope to see. It is a very strong 30W oil, and it'd be one of the best choices you could ever make. If there were an oil spec'd for the absolute best choice for a mower, I'd imagine that the GC would be one of the top indicated.

Use the GC, and worry about other things that can go wrong with the mower. Before winter storage, Sta-Bil in the gas or totally drain all gas from the mower, and cleaning out the carb bowl and spray the bowl and all the passages in the carb with WD-40 before winter storage would probably be a big setp in keeping it reliable for years.

Certainly if you have GC already purchased, not a bad choice; I wouldn't go out of the way to use it over the Amsoil.

Yeah, the GC I have I got at a steal from AZ......$2.50 a qt. It's for a friends BMW but I have tons of it. I recently put in the amsoil oil in there but just wanted to know which one is better. I'd imagine both are equal for an air cooled engine.
