AMSOil MT oil for Ford spec ESE-M2C39A (SAE 50)

(Three attempts made using the AMSOil online/web form, no response :( )

I have a 1973 Ford F600 truck, 361 FT engine, 23,000 GVWR.

The transmission is a 5-speed Clark 282V36.

My understanding is that oil spec for the transmission is SAE 50, Ford spec. ESE-M2C39A for >0°F operation. From the Shop Manual:

Which AMSOil product is most appropriate?

MTG ?

I am led to believe that the unit required ~6 quarts for a fill. Thoughts?
 
I received an email reply to my second online inquiry to AMSOil (four days later):
You can use any 50-weight engine oil like the Premium Protection 20w50 or Zrod 20w50. That spec is obsolete, but it is just a 50-weight engine oil.

Hmmph. That's not very satisfying, esp. references to "weight".

question.

A 50 grade engine oil has a range of kinematic viscosity which falls into the SAE gear oil 75W90 classification. See this viscosity read-across chart.

G. The next higher viscosity MTLs in the 14-17 cSt (SAE 75W90) range would be:

Sure. The question I asked AMSOil via their web form (twice) is what posted at the top of the thread.

Yes, sure; I did search before posting, but Thanks. You won't know the education level of your audience, so that was obligatory, and others may happen by and take note too.

The question I posed to AMSOil and now to you (all) is: which AMSOil product is best suited for this application, given the specific application info I provided and Ford's original -- and now obsolete -- spec.

AMSOil's emailed reply is not really helpful, IMO, but I suppose the single person whose assigned task it is to deal with the input from a web form is often not willing to go that extra mile to provide the information I thought I clearly requested. "Three products by your firm: which one is best?"

Really disappointed, as a PC for over two decades. Maybe I should use older technology and use the phone.

Amsoil MTG or Amsoil FTF

I think the MTG will shift better, but I have no direct experience with that 5 speed transmission.

You live in Duvall, I lived there 16 years. Have we met?
 
Thanks, Pablo. I was leaning toward the FTF.

We conversed (via email I think) in 2017 about my E300's rear diff (a two-year-only MB), but we've never met in person, and as a longtime PC I always stocked my private inventory direct from AMSOil. I was in Duvall 2010-2022.

I moved to Oak Harbor in 2022, and haven't updated all the probably 50+ profiles on various forums yet; I'll go do that here now.
