Hey ya'll, I've been wondering if AMSoil is mostly grp III with their signature series containing some grp IV or if AMSoil is mostly grp IV.

Tried searching, but their are just too many Amsoil threads which makes searching this subject time consuming.

Many other manufacturers rely on group IV basestocks in 0wXX formulations. I'm guessing Amsoil is the same.

He is one of the only amsoil salesmen I can tolerate. He is good.

Base oil blends are unknown to the public but id say AMSOIL Signature Series line is IV AND V.

It really depends on which Amsoil you are talking about. Amsoil (not AMSoil) has 3 basic lines. The OE and XL lines are group III based - in fact they have the same exact base oils, just the additive packages are different. There are other oils included in the package, but the majority base oil is Group III.

The Signature Series oils are Group IV, V based. Mostly Group IV with esters (V) as well.

I'm barely tolerable, and I have NEVER said anything BAD about Mobil 1. But that's another story.
