AMSOIL filter quality today

you do realize the Endurance is the same filter as the amsoil, right?
I assume they are both made by CHAMP Labs. I did not know that. I'm sure there is a decent filter made by FRAM. I am ignorant and loyal to M1 EP and the EP oil filter. This batch of VRP in the two cars is the first oil used other than Mobil1 EP 5w-30, EVER.

The new Mobil 1 filters look to be basically the same construction as the Carquest Premium and MicroGard Select. Don't get the old stock M+H made Mobil 1, not the best quality lately.

And the Royal Purple.
Media or also made by….champion labs? In any event the amsoil end caps are metal on my cartridge style filters and the fram endurance cartridge style are plastic. Again, I want amsoil to be the clear cut premium filter.

Edit: I posted before getting to the new posts. This above point was addressed.

All 3 filters are made by Champ Labs, so I would think all use the same media. Could be slightly different, but all 3 claim high efficiency, so probably the same media.

Fram Endurance end caps plastic in a spin-on? I haven't seen that anywhere.

cartridge style with plastic end caps. Not the spin on canister type. The media looks a bit less robust imo too. But I don’t have a microscope to confirm this.

Do you know if it’s still the Donaldson synteq stuff in the EAO’s? I don’t know that it is anymore is why I’m asking.
Someone (here) wrote that Amsoil is no longer using the Synteq, but I think they were referring to the 15Ks

I think the EAO are still Synteq or something very similar, under a different name. Something about the Synteq patent expiring. Honestly don't know the specifics.

I think these are very brand / model specific and subjective to the user to a certain degree. The cartridge style filters for my 2022 Canyon and wife's 2019 Atlas all have plastic end caps. The quality of filters for both cars (in my opinion) were in descending order: VW OEM, Amsoil, Wix, AC Delco, and MicroGard. I have a Microgard for the Atlas that sits on the shelf as an emergency spare. I won't use that unless I absolutely have to. Compared to the VW side by side, the dimensions appear slightly off, the seals don't look right, the media attachment is sloppy, less pleats, and the plastic feels frail. Amsoil was my choice for the Canyon, again for visual build quality over the others.

I bought a Wix XP for our Beetle. Very impressed with the outer build quality of that (will cut it open when replaced). Made in Germany by M-H.

I haven't seen any issues with Amsoil filters, I use many can and one cartridge type, and I open them up after use. I have seen no issues whatsoever, none of the adhesive people talk about.

I have no fealty to Amsoil, I would happily buy whatever is the most efficient filtration, for the most reasonable price. I'm in the process of switching to Fram Endurance for the price reduction.

I've never seen an O'Reilly Auto Parts in my life, anywhere. We basically have AutoZone, Advance Auto, and some NAPA stores. I get my oil on-line usually from WalMart. I order my filters online also.
I can't walk down the street in central Virginia without tripping over an O'Reilly's. Plenty of them around. That chain likes to build stores beside existing Advance Auto Parts stores.

Northern VA doesn't have any for hundreds of miles. Found one in Winchester Va. I can go check them out and their oil filters

They do that here too or Auto Zones lol
