I thought they were going to expand the line for more make/models? Any news on this Amsoil gurus? I'd buy one for Escape if they had one.

Reasons given have been the demand is not there. They go by purchasing trends and I would assume they made a decision the sales would not justify it?

I have a Chevy Lumina which are out there by the hundreds of thousands but they don't plan to offer one for them.

Any particular way to hound them? I'm sure I can a email address or two but it always helps to go to the right person.

I talked with an Amsoil representative last week. He told me there would be new filters released in January '07. He was reluctant to specify any filter applications.

The Lumina in a way makes sense. That model is no longer in production while the Escape is stil being produced.

Yah but they are still are on the road and will be for years. I dare say they are a lot more of them than Escape's?

How many of those Esape owners are Amsoil customers? They told me that even with that amount of Lumina priduced, there sales of the former foam filters was low compared to others. While the Escape may be popular, you may be the only one who would ever purchase a EAA filter? So engineering and producing 1000 filters for one sale it not cost effective.

I confirmed that a batch of new filters - will indeed be out 01/07. Very hush-hush on applications.

I would shoot a tech contact message with your car in question via amsoil.com.

I know it's killing me too. They don't make one for my frontier, I was hoping they were going to as I put 30,000 on the stock OEM filter, had to go back to the dealer to buy another OEM filter, luckily it was only $8. Not bad for the size filter. I would prefer to have the EAA though since it has better media and better filtration effeciency.

Probably, but that's the genius involved in Purolator and Amsoil. I have no idea how they'd define a purchase trend. When I search air filters for my car on Amsoil, they return a WIX filter as though that's the filter I want, and also as if I'd pay AMSOIL $6.00 above and beyond NAPA's price for a WIX air filter. If the purchase trend that determines production of an EAA filter for my car is defined by the number of pedestrian brand WIX filters I buy for a price that can only be defined as a ripoff, then they'll never make a filter for my car, or dozens of others, because who is going to hand over $13.00 for a WIX air filter, no offense intended to WIX.. I can buy the NAPA Gold OR WIX all day long around here for $7.00. Makes no sense..

AMSOIL makes Wix filters available for purchase by dealers.
If there is an AMSOIL filter available, it is shown, as is the proper Wix filter. If there is no EAA, then only a Wix is shown. In some cases (like for certain model Mercedes), no filter is shown
Sure, if you can buy one cheaper, and that is what you want, go ahead. In some cases, for example someone living in West Overshoe TX, the nearest auto parts store may be an hour or more away, and they may not have that particlar model in stock--

Purchase trend is most likely based on the volume of sales of a particular model filter by Wix--if Wix doesn't sell a slug of them, AMSOIL isn't likely to sell very many. For earlier model filters, AMSOIL had their own figures on volume of sales.

Keep in mind that probably 95% of customers never, ever set foot in an auto parts store, and depend on Jiffy Lube, their local service station, or a repair facility for new filters (and lubes)

There are several Wix filters for ATV's my customers (ATV club) want that they/I cannot find around here. When I inquired, the store did not stock them and thier distributor will only sell to them in case lots (12), so its much easier to get them thru Amsoil with the oils.

A ATV mfg branded filter is often 2x or even 3x that of the Wix and when compared side by side, you would not know which was which.

Price is not always a factor in purchasing. Some people don't mind spending time and money looking for the best deals while others value their time more than money and like to purchase what they need at one source.

Pablo, burn this in your mind.

It will be some Honda, Toyota, Nissan, and the new GM vehicles (SUV's and trucks) and a few randoms.
