Under righteous peer pressure for independent cut open oil filter thread creation from @BrendanC I have gone ahead and done so in the hopes to further the BITOG hive mind progress on engine protection and placate his exacting nature.

This oil filter came off a Kawasaki mule side by side at the 19th month mark and approx 400 miles. It’s now drying out for further investigation. Pics below.

At first blush imo, it looks good. No messy glue, media issues, etc. But this isn’t one of their money
Makers “EAo” series. @Pablo may know more than I do, but I hope they go back to a relationship with Donaldson soon.

It's a relatively old build, date code: Looks like 8/17/2022. Hard to say how the leaf spring seals on the end cap without cleaning it up and doing a flashlight test.

You’ll have to take my word for how tight it looked.
Tightness of the leaf spring into the end cap has no bearing on if it leaks at the leaf spring or not. That's because the four "nubs" on the circumference of the hole in the end cap (seen in photo 6) makes the leaf spring fit tight, and provides no sealing at all. They can prevent the leaf spring from seating all the way down and not seal if the interference fit is too tight, even if the leaf spring was smooth and flat.
