Amsoil changes recommendation for my app?

I always wondered what the role of them OEM became after the vehicle is released to the market after BITOG experts get their hands on it.

Sort of attests to the fact the OEM has still some say in the matter.

Well this is really rude. Shame on you. You are calling him out on this so do not pretend you are not. Very unprofessional. After seeing this kind of abusive nature you couldn't give me Amsoil products even if they were free.

Tim - Amsoil (in the past) called out (for example) a list of best fit oils, such as 0W-20 and 5W-20 and 0w30 when the manufacturer only called out 5W-20. The problem with this, it caused much confusion with the consumer. He didn't know which to use. So at first Amsoil only did a Best-Better-Good type of approach, ie saying (for example) 0w30 will be best (and of course most expensive). The customer would look at the manual and comment that 0w30 wasn't listed. So another round of Q and A would ensue. Since Amsoil has completely changed their line-up to have SS series with more than just the 0W-30, they can now recommend the best product in the line up and still have the viscosity match the requirement. Which is easiest to do just by simply parroting the All Data information.

they recommend 10w30 for my Neon, when the original owners manual recommeneds 5w30 for all temps. Amsoil use to recommened TSO, SSO, and ASL.

It seems on this site some members are confusing opinions with facts.

I guess my opinion to me is accepted as fact, but to others it will always be an opinion.

Is that a problem if an opinion is expressed as fact from that persons view ?

You can usually tell what is opinion or fact. If you are unsure just ask.
