Amsoil ATF question - Jeep ZF 948TE

Warranty is based on cause of failure not fluid color….they could try to deny the warranty but it won’t hold up.
Stellantis is requiring techline authorization for a lot of their powertrain repairs now. Once powertrain center sees the red fluid in the picture, you're done.

Good luck fighting them.

I’ve been in the fight representing the dealer. It doesn’t go well for the OEM.

That’s easy for Stellantis. They just need to say that the transmission has damage where fluid could be a contributing factor. Aftermarket cannot and will not be able to produce any testing specific to this particular unit to prove that their fluid was validated for this specific yr/make/model/configuration.

Also, the OEM’s can get a waiver for specific applications.

Could be won’t fly at arbitration.

I called the FTC and no Commission Waiver was even requested by Stellantis. 1-877-FTC-HELP (382-4357)

I’ve been 100% upfront telling people if you are uncomfortable standing up for yourself get every service done at the dealer and don’t worry about it.

But the fact is no official warranty denial paperwork has ever been produced because of an aftermarket fluid causing a failure. It’s all campfire stories. Not even attempting to fight and repeating what the dealer says or puts on a RO is not warranty denial.

All this aside if Amsoil makes a recommendation and the oil causes a failure it’s covered under their warranty.

I have used AMSOIL Signature Series transmission and gear fluids for almost 20 years and have had nothing but great experience with them.
My brother had a 2005 Honda van that had a few transmissionmissions replaced under warranty, out of warranty it blew again. I rebuilt it using OE parts and used Amsoil regular SS fluid. It went over 150K and was still perfect, interestingly there is no pan on this one and the filter/strainer is inside the unit so when I did the job I changed it and added an external filter also. I am not a transmissionmission guy just an old wrench turner but I manage to find my way around, nothing too scary in there.

I did a line off exchange and I was amazed at the color of the fluid, it still looked like brand new with well over 100K on the fluid, I bet it had many more thousands of miles left in it. I don't use it in everything especially some Euro units with oddball certs but most others no problem, it is very good stuff.
