AMSOil ATF - Please advise!

betcha the Misub. dealer shops are watching these transmissions like hawks for failure with Brand X Maple Syrup unauthorized unspec'd ATF

we are fast approaching the sealed warranty dealer service only auto transmission

There is some kind of error here, but..... We’ve looked into the Dia Queen ATF J2 situation you asked for and have come up with some info. Are you 100% sure which transmission you have?

Mitsubishi uses a couple types of transmissions in their Outlanders. 1. A regular step transmission JF613E that uses Dia Queen ATF SPIII (AMSOIL ATF) and 2. A CVT transmission JF011E which uses the Dia Queen ATF J2 (no AMSOIL product). This information has not been formally confirmed but looks as if it may be the reason for the confusion.

The 07 Outlander FWD uses the Jatco JF613E transaxle which has a transmission code of F6AJA. The AWD model uses the W6AJA transaxle.

It seems I spoke to soon.I was picking up some brake pads and my Mitsubishi parts dept and JF011E is listed as a trans for some 07 Outlanders.

so dealer was right... SPIII as mentioned by AMSoil is incorrect and they need to fix their application guide.

Not that their univ atf is not applicable. I havent gotten any info yet from amsoil tech.

But I am a bit reluctant now... I think I will stick to the dealer for transmission service. With the truck being new and all...

Sounds like the manual is in error - if you DON'T have a CVT transmission, then you can use Amsoil ATF.

You are absolutely right... Just double checked again..
Transmission's official name: W6AJA-1-F1ZA
Recommended fluid: Dia queen ATF - J2
Apparently this fluid just started coming in to dealers three months after the launch.

So I guess I can add that the AWD W6AJA uses the J2 ATF for whatever reason.

1. A regular step transmission JF613E that uses Dia Queen ATF SPIII (AMSOIL ATF)

3. AWD W6AJA (W6AJA-1-F1ZA) uses the Dia Queen J2 ATF (no AMSOIL product).
