I'm just about ready to turn 30k on my 2009 Milan and would like to do quick drain/fill on the transmission fluid. Its getting pretty dark already (though I've read this common for the FNR5).

I remember checking the AMSOIL site a while back and it saying that the ATF fluid should NOT be used in the FNR5. I looked again a couple days ago for oil and saw the site recommended the ATF fluid and that it meets the Mazda MV spec.

Did the website change or am I crazy?

Has anyone successfully used the AMSOIL ATF in an FNR5 (fusion, milan, etc)? If so, was there any shifting improvement?

Thanks!

I may look into the Amsoil as well. M1 was the fluid I have been using, but now it no longer is rated Mazda MV.

Flushed the Fusion transmission with 12 qts last summer with the Amsoil AP ATF and not a problem . Still a nice clear red and shifts great . The stuff I took out at 50K was pretty dark but not burnt smelling .

You can call to make sure but they are very careful about their recommendations. My personal opinion, and I've said it before is, you can debate which quality oil 'til you're blue in the face, but Amsoil Trans/gear lubes are probably the best you can get. I wish so badly they would make a Nissan CVT fluid. GET THE AMSOIL, YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED.
