Is it still ok to use older version in Mazdas
Mazda - MV fluid ( Note its not mercon )
Thx Guys
There is no law that says ATF has to be licensed. Licensing it just a means for the OEM's to get a piece of the action although they claim its to protect the public etc. But If you pay us this much for testing, promise to only use components we way and give us a royalty on all sales, we will license you and let you say so. If you don't then we will have our surrogates bad mouth you and claim your product is substandard (even though we know its better) until you give in and and pay us.
I am not sure what the point of your comment is. You could say that every time someone mentions Amsoil motor oil or gear oil or ATF. They do the required testing and recommend it for certain applications and back that recommendation with a warranty, but choose not to pay license fees to SAE or the various car companies.
I would rather have oil that has a warranty behind it than a license sticker.
