Eben... he comes up anytime you search Youtube for Amsoil. He truly is embarrassing. The first video of his that I saw was when he was going to demonstrate how superior Amsoil Saber was when compared to the "OEM" Ethanol Shield 2-cycle product. He ran them at 200:1, 300:1 and ultimately to 1000:1 and burned both pieces of equipment up. He promised to do an equipment teardown afterwards but because the Amsoil failed in the exact same manner that the Ethanol Shield did he chose not to disassemble the string trimmers. The experiment was simply a waste of money to include the destruction of two pieces of lawn equipment.
It doesn't take any level of intellect to do these sorts of demonstrations and he is fully qualified. I agree that he tarnishes an otherwise excellent product with his foolishness.

This best sums up my whole reason to respond to an Amsoil Announcement. I'm not bashing the integrity of the product. I couldn't care otherwise. I'm just simply saying when I think of Amsoil, the guy in the YouTube videos is the first thing that comes to mind, & it ruins it for me. Of course, Amsoil could give a rats ass about this guy. Whether he gets paid by Amsoil or not, & just chooses to make hundreds of videos about Amsoil just because he loves it so much doesn't bother me. He can do whatever he wants. Some people won't buy certain oils just because of the color of their jugs. That's kind of what this guy is to Amsoil for me. I know it's a fine oil. I don't feel it's necessary for my driving needs, & is a bit expensive for my preferred OCI's of every 4 months. That could be a topic in itself on here, & I'd get crap for that too. It doesn't bother me, nor am I trying to pick a fight. I just wanted to share a stupid pet peeve of mine.

Plus this does seem like an odd thread to post a pet peeve. I mean I understand your peeve to that extent. This guy is a clown. A fool. He's breaking the rules, at least three rules, maybe more and has been reported. Yet you don't seem to acknowledge this.

Thanks yes I gleaned all that from the YouTube channel. I think a distinction needs to be made he on his YouTube channel is not sponsored or sanctioned by Amsoil on their behalf. He is free to do whatever he wants but he cannot advertise beyond Amsoil provided materials and media. This is just one of his violations. There are others. I have no idea if Amsoil was previously aware of any of this.

You're not bashing the product? Everything you have said amounts to product bashing. You won't use Amsoil "because" of this guy? So in your opinion, Amsoil's reputation rides on this guy? If nothing else, you've drawn more attention to him, but maybe that was your intention.
You Tube is a free platform for anyone to express their feelings, thoughts, and creativeness. This fellow thought putting a torch to oil would show some advantage or disadvantage to one or the other. He has the freedom to do that to anything, you have the freedom to not pay attention. Anyone can be infatuated with a product or person, & make silly videos professing that.
I've already expressed in my previous responses he can do whatever he wants, & it doesn't bother me. I've never had the inclination to use Amsoil even before I knew about this guy. Again as I stated previously, he's just the cherry on top. It's funny to me that he's an idiot. Think of it as a silly excuse for me to poke fun of Amsoil. I repeat a silly excuse. Kind of like a good football team I don't like for any particular reason. I know they're good, I'm just not going to root for them, & this dork gives me a reason to laugh about it. To be honest, I'm quite surprised he isn't old news around here. I figured anyone who did any research on Amsoil would have ran into multiple video pop-ups of him by now. That video is 3 years old, & he's still popping them out up to just the other day. Pablo I apologize. You simply started this thread to let people know that Amsoil will be cutting their costs to consumers. Thats cool. I surely thought you would have known about this buffoon. I was just blowing wind under the bridge with my initial post, & it looks like I lifted a few skirts. I doubt he's in any violation, but if so then maybe it was a good thing to bring him up.
Dude you take life to seriously Eben is great, funny and entertaining time for a good laugh but make no mistake Eben believes in AMSOIL products and get the point across just chill and enjoy it don't let it be a hang up for you!
There's only one problem to this conclusion, AMSOIL is well aware of Eben and he is one of their top salesperson and he is going noware!

Nobody said he is going away. But no dealer is immune from the rules. He can't pretend to test and call it Amsoil data in any shape or form.
I'm not sure that you read my last post #29. It clearly sums up my position on the matter, & my whole reasoning for jumping on this thread in the 1st place. I was poking fun of Amsoil, & never was serious about it. Others took it that way. That was over 2 months ago. I've moved on from this thread and will not post on the matter again. It's all already there for everyone to see how I feel plain & clear; assuming you read all of my posts on the thread. If you or anyone else still doesn't get it & has questions, feel free to send me a personal message. Out of respect to other members, I'm not going to beat a dead horse for all to see.

I think he got the message from the bosses at Amsoil.
I commented on one of his videos a very long time ago, to which he promptly replied. Then, oddly enough, several months down the road, and exactly when OP said they would report the YT channel, he responded two more times (for a total of three), to add a disclaimer that he doesn't actually work for Amsoil.
LOL if Amsoil pays him he works for them.

If I dont purchase Amsoil, though, it won't be because of him. It'll be because they charge $15.49/quart for what I need, as well as I have to apparently order direct. Oddly, this is a practice that typically saves the seller money. I shudder to think what it would cost me at O'reilly's to purchase Amsoil if they ever carried it. $20/quart?

I hear ya. Point still stands. They do have sales on oil, bundled with air filters. I also like to support the local economy when I can.
