Amsoil 10W40 AMO changed?

I was on the Amsoil site looking to get some more oil and I noticed the OCI for the 10W40 has changed. It used to be 25k or 1 year for normal service and 15k or 1 year for severe service.

Now it's just 15k or 1 year. Has my beloved 10W40 AMO been changed?

The change reflects the fact that this oil is most often used in older gas engines. Amsoils OCI recommendation for first and subsequent use in gas engines with > 100k miles is a max of 15k miles.

Specs and additive chemistry on the product are very similar to before, only now it's being marketed additionally as a JASO MA product for wet clutch applications. These same comments hold true for the 20w-50/ARO formulation.

Note that Amsoil has done some consolidation and stopped making their original 10w-40/20w-50, motorcycle oils, in favor of their purpose built MC oils (MCF/MCV).

No the oil hasn't changed much as TS says. Last year (2 years ago?) Amsoil radically changed the recommended OCI's for all their oils. I had written many emails and letters, not that they listened to me....

Thanks, I am glad to hear that it's the same oil that my 4.0 Jeep and 2.5 Dodge Shadow like so much. Both are over 100k and run like new. Neither see 15k a year so I'm still good with my annual OCI's. I was afraid that the oil had changed to something closer to the XL line. It must be the fatalist in me.

I have been tempted to run the 10w40 MCV in my cars since I have it around for my bikes.
