Krispy Creme (awesome)
Winchell's Donuts
Duck Donuts (expensive and not my style of donut- way to fancy)
Daylight Donuts
Mr. Donut (I think I have been to Mr. Donut but not 100 percent sure).

I live about a mile and a half from Round Rock Donuts. They turn 100 years old this year.

When I was first buying their donuts, they were $3/dozen. They are now $11.98/dozen. No thank you.

When I was into the "donut thing", I always found the local family bakeries had the best donuts. Far better than the big chains.

I love Daylight and wenchells. Never cared for krispy kreme. I'm surprised Voodoo doughnuts isn't on here.

Our donut prices here have escalated. We, too, have discontinued purchasing any. An easy thing to cut from the expenditure list as they are not healthy. In fact, all baked goods have gone way up in price and all of them are no longer purchased.

A Krispy Kreme Glazed is the one donut all others should be judged. And IF that hot & now neon sign is on it gets no better except adding a tall glass of ice cold milk or a hot black coffee!

Are you saying that there's a sign in Krispy Kreme shop windows which announces that a batch of [glazed] doughnuts just got out of the tub? ...like a taxi call light on a hotel!

I used to frequent a family run coffee-doughnut-sandwich shop. They made a large cinnamon roll.
When a fresh batch of those came out, the word would spread.
Hotel doormen and restaurant help would descend on the place.

YES, Big RED Neon sign in the window that only turns on when that hot icing shower is being applied! However, Not all locations have the Hot & Now ability...
The older I get I find it takes a lot to get me excited, my Birthday, nope not so much but that red sign can turn a frown upside down!

Never have I seen a free-standing sign, with or without neon- at a Krispy Kreme before.

I like that this feature is just for one type of doughnut.

The neon sign can also be in the store window, and it's only on when their original donut is being glazed. I've been there more times than I'd like to admit; DD too.

Just two, Dunkin and Krispy Kreme. On the latter only doughnut I care for is their classic glazed. With that,, Hot Now light on preferred. But in my observation, their prices for a dozen have soared. As for Dunkin, at least in my regional locale, seems they focus more on coffee than the doughnuts selection. Always liked their powdered jelly.

They made an announcement in the station whenever the Hot Now sign got turned on at the KK down the street. Never saw so many cops move so fast and at least a dozen cruisers trying to get out of the parking lot all at once. Safest place in the city for at least an hour. I could slip at least 4 of those warm iced goodnesses on the spotlight arm of my peace guardian chariot. Good times.

One of my bucket list things to do is lay down on the doughnut conveyer belt and roll under the icing waterfall with my mouth open .
