Son's 2013 Ford Focus lights were starting to look bad and after multiple attempts at refinishing I decided to try some cheap housings. These have the black inlays like the ST had and were $125 delivered complete with bulbs. Plug/play and the Focus is so easy to remove the lights...2 bolts and the plug. I replaced the bulbs with Osrams that are brighter. Got them aimed and boom...back to being able to see well at night again for under $200. I'm impressed.

Osram Nightbreakers are great, but if you can get your hands on some Osram 64217 65 watt Rallyes, you'll be amazed. I believe Osram discontinued them a few years back, but they are still floating around. Vosla makes an exact replica (H9 burner on the H7 base) and is available through Daniel Stern. Expensive, but they do last for a high watt bulb and produce noticibely better light.

what are the brand/seller of the headlight units? would like to see if they have for my vehicle.

I'd coat them with C.Quartz DLUX for at least 5 years of clear lights. Can be used on trim also. Not as good as PPF but much easier to use.

For $125 if they last a few years it's a win. This is a 12yo economy car. I use Weathertech headlight protection on my 2 VWs. Here I'll just send it 🤣

This just unlocked a core memory for me, haha. I ordered/installed a set of Osram CBI D2S in our previous TSX about 5 or 6 years ago and was shocked at how much better they were than the OEM Phillips D2S bulbs that were in the car from the factory and only 5 years old when I replaced them. I plan on doing the same thing in my current TSX but I'm between the Osram Night Breakers and the new Phillips Ultra White.

At least throw some 303 protectant on them. The UV protection will keep them from yellowing. Unless the quartz capsule isn't CQ coated (Osrams usually are), then it will yellow the lens from the inside 😐.

Those Nightbreakers are great bulbs. And thank you so much for not being an ass by not driving with drop-in LEDs or HIDs in your halogen housings. Us in the oncoming lanes are happy!

I disagree with you there - and you/me may have argued about this in other threads (?) so no need here in this thread. Not all LEDs in halogen housing cause drama, and that's based on experience. Just read about the Osram LED retrofits that are legal for use in some Euro countries. Yes, I realize many cheapie LEDs cause issues with mis-placed diodes. Yes, I've been blinded by them. I'm blinded reguarly by modern SUVs/trucks with factory lights.

Another comment - these have a strange light cut off pattern...similar to aftermarket projectors with the lower portion of the cutoff to the left and higher to the right, weird and honestly, don't care for it but $125....it's fine 🤣

Most cheaper units are Chinese made and are commonly found on sites like RockAuto, ebay etc.
TYC makes a lot of replacement assemblies and some, if not all, of theirs are made in Taiwan. I've told the story before of the TYC replacements my son bought for his '12 Accord. We compared the originals with the TYCs and down to the injection points, risers, etc, they were identical. I wondered if a) TYC was the OEM or b) they bought the molds.

to jump off topic and let you know you're not imagining anything.. from my digging for info/research I did find out that for my 96 Civic, TYC was the supplier to Stanley who then delivered it to Honda. Yup, comparing the oem's to the TYC, exact in every detail. And.. the light output/spread was much better, almost in another universe, better than the originals. Crazy but Honda really spec'd a dim light that the aftermarket fixed. People talk bad about TYC but in my experience has been really good!
