Amazon headlights with Osram bulbs...a win

Osram Nightbreakers are great, but if you can get your hands on some Osram 64217 65 watt Rallyes, you'll be amazed. I believe Osram discontinued them a few years back, but they are still floating around. Vosla makes an exact replica (H9 burner on the H7 base) and is available through Daniel Stern. Expensive, but they do last for a high watt bulb and produce noticibely better light.
You are my spirit animal.

to jump off topic and let you know you're not imagining anything.. from my digging for info/research I did find out that for my 96 Civic, TYC was the supplier to Stanley who then delivered it to Honda. Yup, comparing the oem's to the TYC, exact in every detail. And.. the light output/spread was much better, almost in another universe, better than the originals. Crazy but Honda really spec'd a dim light that the aftermarket fixed. People talk bad about TYC but in my experience has been really good!
I prefer TYC, but found them to not be identical to Honda units, notably in where and how the clear lens mates with the plastic housing. I saw one set crack at the lock tabs and separate leaving a gap. This was fixed with caulk, because it was a 100k mile vehicle. That not withstanding, the output and optics, while not quite as even as oem, were very usable and were certainly an improvement over what came off. This was on a gen1 mdx.

When I sold my truck, I installed new TYCs where needed.

I disagree with you there - and you/me may have argued about this in other threads (?) so no need here in this thread. Not all LEDs in halogen housing cause drama, and that's based on experience. Just read about the Osram LED retrofits that are legal for use in some Euro countries. Yes, I realize many cheapie LEDs cause issues with mis-placed diodes. Yes, I've been blinded by them. I'm blinded reguarly by modern SUVs/trucks with factory lights.
ECE regulations are very different from DOT. The cutoff requirements for ECE are much more stringent than whats required in the USA. There are a couple of companies trying to get legal DOT certification for aftermarket led bulbs. There's a reason that engineering oem headlights is so expensive.
