Hi,
Would anybody know if it's ok to put Amalie Universal Synthetic ATF in my 2003 Grand Cherokee (42RE) just put it in today and now I'm wondering if I should dump it and put Mopar ATF4 in. The Amalie is rated Plus 4. Any suggestions would be most helpful.
Thank You
Richard

I would replace it with ATF+4. Chrysler does not certify it as being an ATF+4 oil, and if your transmission fails, that is expensive.

It remains a mystery how the product claims to be compatible with Ford Type F (a high friction fluid), and all sorts of modern highly modified fluids at the same time.

I would use it for at least 30k to get your money's worth.
Then, change it out for ATF+4.

No need to remove it until shift quality degrades or 30k/3yrs whichever comes 1st.

I went to their website to read on specs and msds and did not see anything alarming. On the contrary, seems like an excellent product without advertising hype and mystery shroud of MLM. Recommended for extended drain intervals.

A while back I was one click away from purchasing a case of it for my 2008 Hyundai. $60.98/case, no tax, free shipping works out to $5.08/qt. That's not bad for a synthetic multi-vehicle ATF. Pretty darn good actually. I wound up basically paying the same price for Valvoline Maxlife ATF at NAPA. You can get Maxlife slightly cheaper at Walmart, but once you figure taxes, you're up to ~$5/qt anyway. Maxlife, Castrol Import and Amalie are your most common choices for ATF+4 and others. I wouldn't hesitate to use any of them.
