Am I missing something on the Rotella tech sheets?

Pour points according to the Shell website:

Full Synthetic 5W-40: -36 Degrees C

Conventional 15w40: -40 Degrees C

So I am seeing a synthetic oil with a 5W rating that has a higher pour point than a conventional oil with a 15W rating? Do I have the wrong idea of how pour points work? Just a little confused here.

I had a similar question about Formula Shell oils and their technical department told me to ignore the pour points and compare CCS(cold cranking simulator)viscosities.

I just checked the Shell site -
5W40 full synthetic CCS vis. at -30C 6069cP
15W40 Rotella T CCS vis. at -25C 6500cP, CCS vis at -20C 6300cP
The 15W40 is thicker at -20C than 5W40 at -30C.
