are kiwi's not familiar with the art of parody?
many artists consider having Al Parody their work an honor. or a sign they've "made it".
and he always, ALWAYS* gets the artists permission before recording a Parody.
*the exception being "Amish Paradise". The record Label told him they had gotten permission. They hadn't. In fact, when the song came out Coolio went very public about the fact that he had said no to the request.
Al Apologized profusely, and Left that Label (Scotti Brothers Records) after nearly 20 years.
He also now makes sure to Personally Get the ok from the Original Artist.
yeah, after the Amish Paradise Debacle, this song wouldn't have even been recorded without Lorde's consent.
in case anyone was scratching their heads over these last few comments, Here's the original Song:
by Lorde, a Singer/Songwriter from New Zealand.
