Alternative to Amsoil ASL 5W-30 ??

I have no warranty on the truck, I bought it used.

The warranty follows the truck, not the owner. An 06 has powertrain coverage for five years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first, based on the original in-service date.

It's the engine we're talking about here, and I'm pretty sure there is no warranty. It would be great if there was one, but I don't think so.

I must be missing something here. The engine is sold with the truck, and is therefore, warrantied along with the rest of the powertrain.

A Toyota will carry a 3/36 warranty for bumper-to-bumper, 5/60 for powertrain.

Unless your truck has a salvaged title, it has a warranty, whether you're the 2nd or the 50,000th owner.

Critic is correct. If you have a 06 Toyota with 19K on it, your powertrain which includes your engine, transmission, and differential, and just about anything associated with them still has warranty left on it. Looks like you have about 2 years and 40K worth of warranty left on that truck.

Not sure how it works for you southern folks, but up north, only the second owner gets continued coverage from Toyota. The third buyer is SOL.

I have never heard that in the US from any automaker. It may be something related to a difference in US vs Canadian laws regarding warranties.

All i can say is; you're wise to want to change the oil at 6k miles on an engine that is not broke in yet.
YOu're almost broke in (24k), but not quite. YOu said 19k, right?

Why not stick with the same stuff, and start to extend the intervals once the truck is broke in?
You're surely not going to hurt that motor by going 10k after breakin. Probably wouldn't if you did it now.
