Musk could sell or divest. Then carry on with the good work. Plus it’s not like all business is gone.
You cannot discuss Tesla sales without going into politics.Political inputs are a violation of terms of service on this website. This thread is nonpolitical.
They still have a chance here, I think. Maybe 6-12 months. The problem is that the majority of his wealth is actually Tesla.Musk could sell or divest. Then carry on with the good work. Plus it’s not like all business is gone.
Looking doesn't necessarily equal sales. Tesla sales year to date in California feb 2024- feb 2025 are down 12% while ev sales are up 1.5%. Australia is down a whopping 70.1% ytd so far.All over the news Tesla is in trouble.
Going through a mall in Asia on a Monday night. Amazing to see people and their interest in the Teslas on display . The mall had other vehicles on display, but those vehicles were not drawing any interest, including Chinese EVs.
Look at the pictures, mall is fairly empty, with the exception on the Tesla display. People taking selfies, etc.
Fascinating..... Might have to pull a @JeffKeryk and buy TSLA stock while it's price is short term depressed( not really - I don't buy equities).

I’ve had the same problem. I’m finding I’m unable to actually contribute to these threads because we all know what the problem is. It’s causing people to rethink their purchase.
I’ve had posts deleted just for referencing that.
Tesla was six weeks away from bankruptcy a few years ago. Musk himself said without the carbon offset credits they'd not have made it. I'd like to see Tesla pay back the 14 BILLION DOLLARS in carbon offset credits that they've been handed. Second their hiring method just promotes with people with connections or people that can bs their system. Musk claims he wants outstanding workers. I walked into a vw dealership and Lexus dealership and were hired on the spot due to my enthusiasm and knowledge. I didn't need to come up with a bs "Time of excellence " on their application. At the moment the market might be right. Things change all the time, a year from now TSLA can double, or be cut in half from current levels. Time will tell, imo people are losing interest, the competition is getting better, and ICE got a stay of execution.
I’m sure for some it has. My love for the car hasn’t changed. It’s the people threatening damage to the cars that put a damper on it. I honestly don’t think it’ll be a problem in the area I’m in. I just think it’s crazy that the problem exists in some places. My interest in owning a Tesla EV, has only increased.
Was in Germany in mid November. Walking through the parking lot I was surprised at the number of different vehicles and brands I did not recognize. Some really cool stuff - took some pictures. Germany has changed a lot in the last 10 years. 10 Years ago they were all BMW / Mercedes / VW / Peugot, Fiat, the occasional Opal. Now - lots of Chinese stuff. You cannot discuss Tesla sales without going into politics.
Anything else is pretending reality does not exist. We don't have to talk all politics, but we know who is responsible for that catastrophe that is going on in Europe for Tesla. EV sales in Germany are up 37%, while Tesla is down 76%. I said a long time ago here that he will destroy this company, but I am surprised by the decline in Germany. I was thinking it will be a bit less than January's decline, which was 49%. We will see where are EU numbers.
EU over regulated market, which made vehicles super expensive. Especially that small vehicle market, FIAT Punto, Opel Corsa. Then EV’s came and anyone can make one.Was in Germany in mid November. Everyone I know told me how you could buy a Chinese EV for a Fraction of the cost of a German EV and they were nicer. So of course other Euro brands were trying to be more aggressive on price as well. Tesla does not have to contend with that here.
When the topic came to politics it was much like in the US. Everyone agreed that all groups were morons, pass the pretzels. So I doubt its purely an Elon thing, its just maturation of the market and price.
It should not blow your mind. This one is super easy.It blows my mind that people would not buy a product based on one person who works for a company such as this as Tesla CEO.
But then again, look at the human race to begin with ... worse then most lower forms of life or is that us that is lower?
Lack of the ability to critically think has us acting in ways that are contrary to our better being.
(todays words of wisdom)
Well you know me, I dont normally "run with the crowd" *LOL*Of course competition evens the market, but that’s not what caused the seismic shift.
Really? Even after Musk blatantly making up that "Tesla is so close to autonomous driving ?". I have a problem with supporting or owning a product where a ceo can lie about timelines, product specifications and when that vehicle comes out the musk fans claim "he's overly optimistic ". If any of us on this forum ran a business that way we'd be sitting in federal prison on fraud charges. Engineers told Musk that by removing the radar that the accident rates would go up and they have. I really don't think Musk cares about the environment or electric vehicles, Tesla was yesterday's interest. My interest in owning a Tesla EV, has only increased.
The Chinese market from recent reading is having a "Made in the USA " moment but with a "buy local " and "Made in China" type mentality. Now that Chinese companies are coming up with their own designs (not sure how much is their own technology) they're real competitors to Tesla. Add that Mercedes has actual level 3 certification in the USA. Honda/Acura have it in Japan. According to recent news Stellantis will have their level 3 coming online this year. It's leaked that Honda could have an actual solid state battery in a vehicle by 2027-28. Musk dumped billions into the Cybertruck, and Tesla still has 9150 unsold ones sitting on lots, and in holding lots. Now he wants to build an electric bus and an electric motorcycle, which will cost who knows what. I've still never seen a Tesla semi but have seen multiple Volvo and freightliner ev semis.Well you know me, I dont normally "run with the crowd" *LOL*
I think some has to do with the CEO but I also think is about some of his business decisions.
People in Scandinavia were incensed about Tesla's refusal to work with the traditional unions. One that every other company does. These arent like USA unions, meaning not as vicious. But Telsa bucked the established system and they still do. Sympathy has spread to other countries from working families. Even Germany, known of their unions but different from our unions. German unions do work with the company knowing better the company success is better for them.
However, I also think as you always knew, Tesla just the same models year in and out. Some people want something different. Tesla isnt offering it (nothing wrong with that) but there are more choices now and people can go other places.
SO put it all together and I think it's messy all over over there. Then throw in the vicious Chinese competition and I suspect Tesla influence there might be waning too.
