All reaction scores set to zero

First I've heard of a reaction score in all the years I've been here. I can see likes in each post but where is this reaction score thing and what does it mean? Is that like some kind of feel-good score like the number of followers you have on Myspace or other social sites?

Maybe we should have one "Like" be deleted for each "Angry" that is made? And a "Wow" should get you two "Likes" since one wow has always been equal to two likes in my neighborhood.

Overkill was at the top for a long time because he posts interesting and useful material …
I’ll stop there …

I wasn’t competing at least not in my eyes, I just think it was unfair to have my score gone when nobody else did just because of how long I have been here. Yes most of them were given by a now banned member. It made me feel I was important here which some members here definitely don’t.
Those seem like competing/contradictory thoughts. If one wasn't competing; leveraging a "popularity metric" to make themselves feel good, then it being reset, wiped-out, removed entirely shouldn't have any impact on their state of mind. The fact that you felt wronged by the modification of your score while ceding that it was artificially inflated in the first place hints at you knowing that this sense of "importance" was obtained on fraudulent grounds but the feeling was worth more than the honesty.

There's probably a couple 90 minute psychology 101 group analysis sessions packed in there but I do think it prudent to suggest some introspection on why that score mattered so much to you, because that's not healthy. You seem like a good kid, don't get wrapped up in the social media "popularity" trap. There are some incredibly stupid people that are ridiculously popular. If they were all herded off a cliff, the world would be no worse off.

The Stephen Hawking foundation has 7,497 followers on twitter. The Albert Einstein account, 228,000. Cardi B has 17.6 million. We are what we consume, for a significant portion of the population, they choose stupid.

Kind of the point of the change and this thread.

Good deal .
Sorry but if you do not take away the top poster numbers that will be the next competition.
maybe we could make it most posts per month.. you should be near the top of that one. at over 1500 per year(most of them bored nonsense)

Could it be programmed to only count "liked" posts and not the laughing, angry, shocking, etc.... reactions?
As I recall, it sorta does this. Like, Love, and Haha are +1 point, Wow is maybe neutral, and Sad and Angry are -1.

Don't see that happening and have hardly ever seen any website (forum) do this. Some allow each member to customize what is displayed over there <<< on the left under our avatar. Those that allowed it, I would often turn off or hide total post count. I can judge people who's answers I respect and don't need a post count to help me. ;)

The Albert Einstein account, 228,000.
OK, you asked for it...
