I gotta say, I'm not crazy about the way Walmart has been changing their automotive section around...they seem to be getting rid of a lot of the products I use and replacing them with garbage, or not replacing them at all...

I suspect the profit margin on automotive maintenance stuff like oil and filters is very, very low compared to something like electronics or clothing, so it probably makes sense to only keep the minimum stock that brings people into the stores and you can be guaranteed that stock will change based on the deals Walmart is cutting with the suppliers. It surprises me a bit to see the Rotella filters that hardly anyone will buy due to cost, unless they plan on phasing out those sizes in other brands. Not easy to cross reference either. Personally, I think Walmart would do well to sell a couple of grades of Walmart filters--regular ST and maybe ST Special that would be almost as good as regular Wix, though the latter probably wouldn't be too happy about it.

Was at the local Walmart yesterday. Its basically a wall of the Fram products and about 6ft of a single shelf sharing the new Super Tech filters plus ACDelco and Mopar. Bosch was down on the bottom shelf almost hidden, maybe 2ft of shelf space. There was rows and rows of Fram Ultra. If you blinked you would miss the Super Tech filters.
