Went to the two local Walmarts within a 25 mile radius of my house today to try and get the PL30001 filter for my Ram in signature. Both Walmarts have no classics but in there place are now Super Tech Oil Filters. Which before neither Walmart for years had them. Who makes Super Tech oil filters these days? The filters they do still stock are Motorcraft, HUGE selection of Frams, Super Tech, K&N and Bosh. They also did away with the Mopar filters.

Discussed at length already, but here are the cliff notes. Purolators went on closeout around December last year. ST filters took their place. They appear to be Wix made for the most part, and only "good" specs as far as micron rating.

My Walmart used to carry Purolator, Bosch, Fram, Mopar, AC Delco and perhaps one or two more.

Last month, completely reorganized and now just Fram and ST

purolator classics are being pulled from everywhere because they're not made anymore

I think every question or comment here has already been answered at least once, if not several times, in the oil filters forum.

It is a shame that this site has a search feature that stinks as bad as it does.

The search filter works flawlessly. People just don't bother to use it.

Also they're not in the normal places, you have to look around, they're in the clearance racks somewhere. Maybe up by the front of the store or a different section, I didn't find them in the Automotive section. They are clearance priced now at $1.50 or maybe even $.75 now. I was at another one a few days ago and it was still $1.50, but in a different section. In a previous thread they were originally $2.50 then it went down to $1.50 and someone else said $.75 at their store.

Got a Purolator Classic in a new red can at AAP a couple days ago. It was part of a Oil change bundle. BTW when I told the clerk that my truck needed 6qt he gave me the 6th qt free. OK in my book.

People actually buy those things? Purolators end up in the clearance isle, and stay there collecting dust, especially the odd filters.

Might be a score for some.

It's not a classic anymore. It's just "purolator". I know it's pedantic but that's marketing for you.

Sorry if I brought up a topic that has been covered before -- my bad. BUT -- if I had a dollar for each time a topic has been repeated on this site I could retire in the next 3 years probably!! :P

Dont you love when someone says that has been discussed here before... Who would have known...lol This is an oil forum if we could not discuss anything that was discussed before we would not be able to post anything...lol

Here is what I see on a ST3614 filter box
