Akebonos vs Duralast Gold brakes

akebonos have been great for us in honda products and tends to me my go-to for mainstream sedans and SUVs. The best brakes we have experienced in our gen1 MDX was akebono pads on Raybestos AT rotors. Stopping power and modulation were incredible. They were oem in our ex-2008 grand cherokee IIRC. Akebonos had less bite and felt a little dead, but offered more modulation than OEM volvo pads in our 2 volvo S60s, and I preferred Hawk pads in them (hawks had a good blend between bite and modulation, at the cost of more dust).

Akebono pads with Raybestos AT Rotors were awful in our gen 1 tundra. Even with 4-piston TRD brakes they lacked bite. The truck was already known for anemic brakes, so it wasn't totally akebono's fault - they just made it worse. Tried a couple different brands and settled on Hawk LTS, which worked ok at the expense of dust. Can't really blame much on the pads here.

Akebono seemed to be similar in my experience to wagner TQ pads (thermoquiet).
