Hello everyone. I went to the annual airshow held in my hometown during spring break so I thought I'd share the pics. I was hoping for a good mixture of different types of planes there but most of them were military which I am not as interested in. Wish they could have had a 747 there so I could get up close to one, but I don't think the runway is long enough for one to land or take off though. The main attraction certainly were the Blue Angels. They did some interesting stunts. There are too many pictures to upload here so I'm linking it to my Photobucket album. Enjoy

Which airport was it at ?

The Blue Angels put on a much better show than the USAF Thunder Birds.

Yay, Fat Albert! VRRROOOOOOOM!

Canon Powershot A620. I love this camera. All the pictures were taken with the auto setting. It allows a good amount of manual control but I still have yet to learn how to use them even though I've had it for almost three years.

Charlotte County airport in Punta Gorda. Pretty much a small air field for small private planes.

I have no idea what any of those planes I took are but if you're referring to the big gray one with the 4 props then I think you are correct. It did say hurricane something or another on it.

The big fat grey one with propellers was the C-130J. Hurricane hunting is a crazy job.

Side note:
Mori, the C-130J makes a higher performance take off with no JATO than Fat Albert does with JATO.

Good that I've put down my red pen for good. Anyway, I just enjoy it when Fat Albert gets all huffy and puffy.

Unfortunately I missed Fat Albert's take off. Just caught the end when it flew around, made a steep dive, and landed. It was pretty fast.

Just checked the airshow website. It's a Lockheed 12a. Here's a link to the owner's website .

I went to a air show once, and all it was is a bunch of clear ballons and some carny type guy. Read your ticket carefully, and schedule a massage the next day for your neck.
