I have a 1983 edition of 'Mechanix Illustrated', and it has a 2-page ad for this exact stuff (Slick 50) on the back, in this same can. There is also an add in it for QS, and again, it's the exact same can, so I can date this stuff pretty accurately to about 1982-1984.
