Airliner Power to Weight Ratios

Yeah - what is this "power to weight ratio" thingee?

Seriously - when I was a kid when an older relative tried to make me a kite, and I kid you not when he tried to do it with 1"x2" wide board lumber and some cloth. Yeah it just dropped. But then he came to the brilliant idea that this bamboo in my parents' yard could be split and then used.

Awesome Linc! Slightly different missions and scales of speed, but neat nonetheless. My favorite jet from my Navy days was the F14, not the 18... the 'Cat just exuded muscle and sheer power, yet with quite a bit of finesse as well.

Thanks for the news, I think you'd be right.
I was able to stand next to an F-14 a few years ago. I had no idea how "big" they truly were. They look tiny from all of those overhead videos of them on an aircraft carrier.

I've always liked the f-14 tomcat myself
