Air filters are shrinking.

This is the air filter for my jeep. In the past the paper pleats were about 1.25 inches tall. This microgard filter is only about 1/2 tall now .

So make shorter pleats that clog up faster and sell more filters.

The denso fits better. Still slightly too small but seals if I get it in place . I need the new housing as ours must be swelled up somehow

Yes shrinking. You can see the spot in the air box where the filter originally would have went.

Inflation these days. But I would rather pay more for the original filter dimension than have less filter material.

I changed mine out a couple of weeks ago. F150 Fram out, Fram in. At least that one was still the same size. There was a dadgum bread tie in the old one....

Toyota's air filter for Tundra and im sure other models shrank in size as well. almost in half.They issued a bulletin about it saying its just as god as the original larger filter. Gotta cut costs any place they can

The most important filter is your air filter.....

and from what I´ve seen, people change their filters way too early. So I can understand the pleat count shrinking, but the actual sealing surface.... that **** gets returned to the store for a replacement.
