Air filters are shrinking.

This is the air filter for my jeep. In the past the paper pleats were about 1.25 inches tall. This microgard filter is only about 1/2 tall now .

So make shorter pleats that clog up faster and sell more filters.

Is that only from that manufacturer (presumably they supply / private-label multiple others too) ?
 
I changed mine out a couple of weeks ago. F150 Fram out, Fram in. At least that one was still the same size. There was a dadgum bread tie in the old one....
 
Toyota's air filter for Tundra and im sure other models shrank in size as well. almost in half.They issued a bulletin about it saying its just as god as the original larger filter. Gotta cut costs any place they can
 
The most important filter is your air filter.....

and from what I´ve seen, people change their filters way too early. So I can understand the pleat count shrinking, but the actual sealing surface.... that **** gets returned to the store for a replacement.
