Air compressor needs non-detergent, synthetic.

I have a Powermate 60 gallon 240v compressor, twin piston. It has a sticker that says 'use only non-detergent, synthetic air compressor oil'. I checked where I got it (Fleet farm) and they have nothing of the sort.

I'm not an expert, but I think my synthetic pennzoil platinum is detergent anyway.

What do those with these bigger compressors use? I'm about 5hrs in of use and would like to change it.

Amsoil has a nice line of synthetic compressor oils in various weights.

Ingersoll Rand is suppose to make an excellent synthetic oil for compressors.

Wonder why the place that sells all this Powermate stuff doesn't stock? Guess it's up to Amazon or such as Lowes here and HD doesn't have.

There are lots of synthetic compressor oils. most important is know the viscosity and whether you want/need PAO or Ester. IR and Atlas Copco are obvious answers, just about 3 times the price of anyone else. The Mobil Rarus series, Amsoil, or what I carry for Bolivia. Lots of choices.

Twin piston is probably an ISO 68 or ISO 100.
Esters can eat certain seals and materials.
If it doesn't say, you are safer with PAO.

Ingersoll's oil is "T-30 All Season".Actually made for Ingersoll's T30 series compressor setups but has been known to be used in others.

I use Lowe's semi synthetic compressor oil in my Powermate compressor.

I had to roder online caus couldn't find it local. Amazon 4pack was what I went with. Ingersol Rand T-30.
