Not sure why this happens but recently switched from TDS to Spectrum.
Now YouTube for you/recommendations and Facebook reels are all terrible foreign language garbage including mild pron.
I have “safe” settings that should block this crap and have blocked hundreds of foreign accounts but blocking seems to do absolutely nothing. Oddly Facebook has always told me every time I log in that it’s a strange device or new location even though the entire history of logins is always the same device at the same location. (Brain dead system)
Not sure why I can’t make it so anything in a foreign language is blocked but nope,
I’ve had this issue before where everything goes gross foreign but was eventually able to mostly clear it. I have no apps only IOS and Roku devices.
I’ve noted other people on Reddit with the same issue.
Yes my language is set correctly, no I don’t have any spicy searches, just very boring topics. About the only thing I use internet for is YouTube, Roku, Craigslist, forums and facebook.
Very irritating, and very stupid that the only way left would be to use actual child viewing settings which would block some of the very tame historical and news content I view.
What’s strange is there is basically nothing on my network, no printers, no PCs, everything is either new or up to date and I have never searched for anything relating to what’s going on my feed and nothing matches my actual interests or things i follow.
Even suggestions that are on topic and in English seem to be made by folks outside the us, I don’t have a VPN and have never been outside the Midwest.
Even adds many times come in a foreign language, I always flag them as irrelevant.
